
Johnny Leon-Rojas, 18, ID’d as Suspect in Clearlake Fatal Crash on Boyles
CLEARLAKE, CA (January 24, 2023) – Authorities detained Johnny Leon-Rojas after a crash that killed a bicyclist on Boyles Avenue in Clearlake.
Police identified the 18-year-old Santa Rosa man as the suspect in the fatal wreck which occurred last week on Tuesday.
The incident began when Johnny Leon-Rojas was driving a blue Toyota Tundra on Boyles Avenue in Clearlake. At the same time, Edward Quinones was riding a bicycle.

Police said for an unknown reason, he then struck the cyclist near 26th Avenue. The Press Democrat and Lake County News wrote that the accident took place on January 17 at about 5:45 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision. The 48-year-old Clearlake man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, police arrested Johnny Leon-Rojas for misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter following the crash. They soon booked him into the Lake County Jail.
Records showed that the suspect ended up released from custody. The cause of the Clearlake crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 707-994-8251.
