PERRIS, California (December 27, 2016) — Johnny Sambrano, 35, of Perris was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at 20690 Old Elsinore Road, according to a report by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash took place about 6:40 a.m. on Christmas Eve as Mr. Sambrano was walking in the area. Sambrano died the same day about 11:04 p.m. at Riverside University Health System Medical Center.
Police are searching for the suspect’s vehicle, described as a black Dodge Ram pickup truck. They say he was struck from behind as he walked northbound on Old Elsinore Road.
The collision remains under investigation by police, but there were no further details provided in the report. Witnesses or anyone with information about this tragedy are asked to contact police at (951) 637-8000.
