Dirt Bike Rider Dies in Collision Near Castro Street
San Leandro, CA (August 2, 2022) – Jonas Anthony Rivera-Sanchez, a 25-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Washington Avenue Saturday.
The Mercury News reported Rivera-Sanchez was riding a dirt bike traveling in the streets of San Leandro. When the motorist approached the area near Castro Street, he collided with a van heading in the same direction.
Deadly Traffic Accident on Washington Avenue in San Leandro
Shortly after 4:12 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the site. Responding paramedics found the rider suffering in serious injuries. According to the article published online, medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital. Sadly, the patient succumbed to his injuries and later died. The coroner’s office identified the deceased as Jonas Anthony Rivera-Sanchez, of San Mateo.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van reportedly appeared unharmed after the incident. Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly crash that happened on Washington Avenue in San Leandro.
