Driver and Dog Killed, Passenger Injured in Memorial Day Crash
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2022) – Jonathan Wiley Bewley, 39, of Roseville, died and his passenger was critically injured in a solo-vehicle crash on Sun Center Drive in Rancho Cordova.
The high-speed traffic accident occurred about 6:52 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5th, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner.
The Roseville man was driving a car on Highway 50 when it veered onto Sun Center Drive and crashed into some trees and a vacant building near 10900 Sun Center Drive, according to a report by CBS News.
The motorist and a dog both died at the scene of the violent crash that tore the vehicle apart. Paramedics with Metro Fire of Sacramento responded and rushed a 47-year-old Oxnard man who was a passenger to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators with the CHP believe that drugs and/or alcohol could be a factor in the crash, CBS reported.
The collision remains under investigation.
