Jonathan Hiromoto, 26, ID ’d as Suspect in Victorville DUI Crash
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 3, 2023) – Authorities detained Jonathan Hiromoto after a DUI crash at Amargosa and Palmdale roads in Victorville.
Deputies determined that the 26-year-old Victorville man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place last week on Friday.
The incident began when Jonathan Hiromoto was driving a GMC Yukon in the area of Amargosa and Palmdale roads in Victorville. He then failed to stop at the westbound red stoplight.
In the process, his car slammed into an unmarked Dodge Charger driven by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sergeant at the intersection. Officers added that the suspect also struck a Chevy Tahoe.
Sheriff’s Sergeant Injured in Wreck
The Victor Valley News and Daily Press wrote that the accident occurred on January 27 at about 10:08 p.m. The Dodge obtained major damage while the Chevy sustained minor damage as a result of the collision.
The male sergeant ended up hurt as a result of the wreck. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The name of the wounded victim and his condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, deputies arrested Jonathan Hiromoto for felony DUI causing bodily injury following the crash.
They soon booked him into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto. The suspect remained at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of a $280,000 bail.
