Jonathan Newell, 49, Injured in Nipomo Head-On Crash on Highway 101
NIPOMO (August 5, 2018) – An alleged wrong-way DUI crash along Highway 101 early Friday morning left two people injured, including the suspect, according to The Tribune and Santa Maria Times.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported on August 3 at 1:28 a.m.
As per the reports, officials said 25-year-old Emmett Hill was seen driving a 2010 Toyota south in the northbound left lane of Highway 101 at an alleged high rate of speed. Hill then collided head-on with a 2006 Ford that was going north at the time.

The driver of the Ford, 49-year-old Jonathan Newell, suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash. The Lompoc man was transported to Arroyo Grande Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, Hill was extricated from his car and was brought to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. Authorities believed that the Lompoc man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck.
