Jorge Garcia Prieto Semi-Truck Crash Lancaster Avenue D 110th Street

Jorge Garcia Prieto, 52, Badly Injured in Lancaster Fatal Crash 

LANCASTER, CA (April 11, 2023) – A fatal crash badly injured Jorge Garcia Prieto at Avenue D and 110th Street West in Lancaster.

The California Highway Patrol identified the 52-year-old Cabazon man as the victim in the wreck which took place on Monday.

The incident happened when Jorge Garcia Prieto was driving a 2021 Peterbilt tractor east on West Avenue D, known as State Route 138, in Lancaster.

At the same time, a 2002 Jeep Liberty was going north on 110 Street West. For an unknown reason, the car ran through the stop sign at the intersection.

Car Runs Stop Sign, Collides with Semi-Truck

In the process, the semi-truck broadsided the car. The Antelope Valley Times and FOX 11 News wrote that the big rig rolled over due to the impact of the collision.

CHP said the accident occurred on April 10 at around 5:35 p.m. Jorge Garcia Prieto sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Jeep, 68-year-old Fremont resident Jimmy Liu, and three of his passengers survived the incident with moderate to major injuries. Paramedics rushed all patients to hospitals for treatment.

The fifth occupant of the Liberty, a 75-year-old Union City man, died at the scene of the accident. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Avenue D and 110th Street to shut down for a time after the collision.
