Jorge Abonce Garcia Killed, 1 Injured in Truck Accident on SR-25 Tuesday
GILROY, Ca (October 17, 2019) – A 49-year-old man died, and another suffered injuries in a traffic collision on Highway 25 Tuesday morning, the Mercury News reported.
Our sources indicated Jorge Abonce Garcia, of San Juan Bautista, was behind the wheel of a 2002 Freightliner. Officials said the Freightliner was traveling southbound on the highway and failed to stop in time to avoid hitting 2008 Kenworth that was making a left turn onto the two-lane highway from a private driveway.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m., emergency teams responded to the location and attended to the parties involved. Per local news source, the operator of the Freightliner, later identified as Garcia, sadly died as a result of the accident.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the Kenworth overturned and came to a rest blocking both directions of the highway. The operator of that big rig, a 49-year-old San Jose man, suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Investigators stayed in the area after the mishap and determined several factors surrounding the collision.
