Head-on Crash Leaves One Dead; One Injured on David Road
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2022) – Jose Ascencion Nieto Bonilla 38, of Bakersfield, is identified as the driver killed in a two-vehicle crash last week on David Road near Arvin in Kern County.
The traffic accident took place on Thursday, Sept. 29th around 6:40 a.m., according to the Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now,
Jose Bonilla was driving a Buick Rendezvous westbound on David Road and a driver in a Toyota Matrix was traveling westbound.
The Buick crossed into the eastbound lane due to unknown circumstances. The two vehicles collided head-on, just west of Edison Road.
Firefighters responded and pronounced Jose Bonilla dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Buick, Gerardo Espinoza, 66, of Arvin, sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision. Paramedics transported him to Kern County Medical Center for treatment.
The fatal Kern County crash is still under investigation by the CHP.
