Jose Campuzano, 43, Killed in Cathedral City Hit-and-Run on Ramon Road
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 3, 2021) – Jose Campuzano was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Ramon Road in Cathedral City.
The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the 43-year-old Cathedral City man as the victim of the collision which occurred on Thursday.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck Jose Campuzano for an unknown reason in Cathedral City. Police said the male driver hit him on Ramon Road, just east of Landau Boulevard.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene near the Chevron gas station. They found the pedestrian left lying unconscious on the westbound lanes of the road.

Jose Campuzano sustained severe injuries as a result of the Cathedral City crash. Medical personnel soon rushed him to the Desert Regional Medical Center, where he died.
The Desert Sun and KESQ News wrote that the accident took place on September 2 at about 8:07 p.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that motorist surveyed the area on foot after hitting the victim.
He then went back to his older model Dodge Ram crew cab truck and fled the crash site. The fatal Cathedral City hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
