Jose Equihua, 55, Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Archibald Avenue
DATE OF COLLISION: Monday, October 8th
October 9, 2018 – A 55-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on the Interstate 10 Freeway Monday evening, according to the Press Enterprise.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., Jose Equihua, on Ontario, parked on the right shoulder of the westbound freeway west of Archibald Avenue after his vehicle became disabled.
Officials believed Equihua was attempting to walk off of the freeway when he was struck by a passing 2019 Lexus.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident Monday in Ontario
Responding medical personnel reportedly rendered aid to Equihua, but the man succumbed to his injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Lexus driver, a woman from Lakewood, was unharmed in the incident.
At this time, the investigators handling the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident.
