Jose Esparza, 24, Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash at McKee Road and 33rd Street
SAN JOSE, CA (July 20, 2021) – Jose Esparza was killed after a hit-and-run crash at 33rd Street and McKee Road in San Jose.
Family members identified the 24-year-old San Jose man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened on July 17 when Jose Esparza was driving a black 2007 Honda was going east on McKee Road in San Jose.
Speeding Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
At the same time, a black 2015 Infiniti was travelling at a high rate of speed north on 33rd Street. The Infiniti ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into the Honda.
San Jose police said Jose Esparza ended up ejected from his car as a result of the crash. The Mercury News and KTVU News wrote that he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the speeding driver abandoned their car and fled on foot. The fatal San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
