1 Killed, 3 Badly Injured on Palm Drive
DESERT HOT SPRINGS (December 20, 2018) – Jose Gutierrez, 73, of Desert Hot Springs, died and three people were hurt in a crash on Palm Drive Thursday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The accident was reported about 3:25 p.m.
Desert Hot Springs police and California Highway Patrol responded to the two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of Palm Drive. It’s unknown at this time what caused the crash, but both vehicles were traveling in the same direction.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported four people to hospitals, three of them had moderate injuries. Gutierrez was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died at 4:25 p.m.
Desert Hot Springs Accident Investigation
Police are investigating the cause of this collision and liability. It’s unknown at this time whether any traffic violations were involved or mechanical problems.
