Jose Hernandez Hit and Killed by Vehicle at 6th and Magnolia Tuesday
LONG BEACH, Ca (May 30, 2020) – A fatal pedestrian accident occurred in the area of 6th Street and Magnolia Avenue Tuesday, according to a press release from the Long Beach Police Department.
The crash took place on May 26 at approximately 11:10 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Long Beach, May 26
Preliminary investigation reveled a police-chased vehicle struck an individual legally crossing the Long Beach intersection. The collision resulted in deadly injuries to the pedestrian, later identified as 23-year-old Jose Hernandez. However, it remained unclear whether the victim died at the scene or at a hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the 26-year-old man driving the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was involved in a commercial burglary prior to the pursuit and the crash. Our sources confirmed the driver of the 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE was evading police when the accident happened.
