Deadly Car Accident at El Colegio and Stadium Road
Isla Vista, CA (May 31, 2022) – Jose Luis Hernandez, and Sebastian Gil both died following traffic collision that occurred in the area of El Colegio and Stadium Road.
On May 28, Saturday, multiple vehicles collided at the intersection in Isla Vista. The Noozhawk News reported the wreck involved as many as three cars. Pending confirmation, the make and model of the automobiles found at the scene have not been revealed thus far.
Preliminary investigation revealed one motorist ran a red light at the crossing of El Colegio and Stadium, leading to the collision. The crash left some parties trapped in their vehicles.
3 Killed, 5 Injured in Isla Vista Car Crash
Shortly after 5 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate the victims pinned in the mangled cars. According to the article published online, as many as eight people sustained injuries in the accident. Despite life-saving measures, three patients sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau later identified two of the fatalities as 28-year-old Jose Luis Hernandez, and 20-year-old Sebastian Gil, both from Santa Barbara.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly crash at El Colegio and Stadium Road.
