
Man Killed in 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 33 is Identified
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 18, 2024) — Jose Lopez, a worker at The Wonderful Company, died Monday night in a crash on Highway 33 near Hanawalt Avenue in Bakersfield.
The man was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with a truck at around 6 p.m. on Sept. 16th, according to Bakersfield Now.
The victim reportedly worked at the plant for about 10 years, according to a statement from Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds.
“His family is foremost in our thoughts and our priority now is to support them in every way possible,” the statement said. “We are conducting a complete and careful investigation of what took place.
United Farm Workers also issued a statement on X that they are “heartbroken” about the loss of Jose Lopez.
Liability for the man’s death has not been determined, but the case remains under investigation.
