Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident at 170th and Ave O in Lake Los Angeles
PALMDALE, Calif. (Sept. 20, 2018) — Jose Martinez, 60, died in a pedestrian accident last Wednesday, Sept. 12th at 170th Street East and East Avenue O in the Lake Los Angeles community, according to the Los Angeles Coroner.
The crash took place at the intersection when the man was struck by a driver in a 2018 Honda HRV crossover SUV. Paramedics responded to the scene, but sadly Mr. Martinez died from blunt force traumatic injuries, the report said.
Police are heading up an investigation into this collision to determine fault. The intersection where this took place has marked crosswalks, but it’s unknown if the victim was in one or not.

The investigation into this collision is underway and there are certainly many unanswered questions about what happened. It’s unknown who is responsible for this man’s death. What we do know is that pedestrians typically have the right-of-way in the roadway at all times.
