Jose Martinez, 68, Killed in Santa Ana Crash on South Cedar Street
SANTA ANA (October 26, 2018) – A pedestrian hit and killed by a car along Cedar Street on Thursday evening has been identified as Jose Martinez, according to The Orange County Register and CBS Los Angeles.
The 68-year-old Santa man was the victim of a tragic collision which occurred at about 7:30 p.m. near the 1800 block of South Cedar Street.
As per the reports, police said Martinez was standing on the driver’s side of his parked vehicle when he was struck by a BMW which was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed at the time.

The impact caused Martinez to be pinned against the BMW and a pickup truck. He was then immediately taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the BMW crashed into five other parked cars after hitting the man. The 19-year-old alleged speeding motorist stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the authorities.
The young man was possibly attempting to get around a vehicle that was double parked in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
