Cyclist Fatally Hit by Vehicle Near Tuers Road
San Jose, CA (May 12, 2022) – Jose Navarro Jr., a 52-year-old man, died following a traffic crash that occurred on Capitol Expressway.
The Mercury News published an article online reporting Navarro was riding a bicycle on Capitol on May 1. When the cyclist approached the area near Tuers Road, Navarro started crossing traffic lanes from north to south.
Our sources indicated a 2007 Nissan sedan heading west on Capitol struck the cyclist. The catastrophic incident took place at about 9:12 p.m.
Deadly Bicycle Accident on Capitol Expressway in San Jose
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the bicyclist with serious injuries. Authorities later confirmed the man sadly died as a result of the collision. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Jose Navarro Jr.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan appeared unharmed after the crash. The motorist stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the deadly accidnet on Capitol Expressway in San Jose.
