Fatal Traffic Collision Near Vermont Avenue
West Athens, CA (May 28, 2022) – Jose Rodriguez, a 52-year-old Hawthorne resident, died following a car accident that occurred on 105 Freeway early Thursday.
The CBS News reported a pickup truck and a semi collided in the westbound side of I-105 near Vermont Avenue. According to the article published online, the horrible crash took place at about 2:14 a.m.

When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to all the occupants of both the pickup and the big rig. After the evaluation, authorities sadly pronounced one person dead. Officials later identified the fatal victim as Jose Rodriguez, of Hawthorne.
No immediate information was available on the conditions of other parties involved in the wreck.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate at this time the precise cause of the deadly crash on 105 Freeway in West Athens.
