Driver Arrested on DUI Charges for Fatal Crash in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 13, 2024) — Jose Valladolid Ramirez, 36, of Sacramento, died in a bicycle accident Monday night on Fruitridge Road, just west of 88th Street in Sacramento.
The deadly crash occurred in an industrial area at around 10:30 p.m. on June 10th in the New Brighton area of the city, according to a report by Yahoo News.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities investigating the crash determined the bicyclist was struck by a driver suspected of driving under the influence of a drug, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
The driver was transported to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. He is expected to be booked on charges of possession and driving under the influence.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office released the name of the victim who died as Jose Valladolid Ramirez of Sacramento.
The investigation into the bicycle accident on Fruitridge Road is ongoing.
