Joseph Castro Jr., 19, of Las Vegas Killed in Lake Elsinore Car Crash
LAKE ELSINORE, California (May 9, 2016) — Joseph Castro Jr., 19, of Las Vegas was killed when the black car he was riding in as a passenger crashed early Sunday morning on Railroad Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Police say it was a solo vehicle crash and that it took place at 12:20 a.m. near Church Street. The vehicle was reportedly ripped in half during the violent crash separating the front and back of the vehicle and leaving debris all over the roadway.
Joseph Castro died of his injuries at the scene of the crash, but three others in the vehicle were apparently not injured.
UPDATE: A GoFundMe site was established to help the family pay for funeral expenses.
The collision is under investigation by the Lake Elsinore Police Traffic Team. They closed down the roadway between Grape Street and Canyon Hills Road for several hours.
