Joseph Curran, 74, Killed in Elysian Park Bus Stop Crash on Broadway
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 18, 2022) – Joseph Curran was killed after a crash at an Elysian Park bus stop on Broadway.
The coroner’s office identified the 74-year-old man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place last week on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Joseph Curran and another man were sitting on a bench of a bus stop in Elysian Park. At the same time, a green Mercedes-Benz SUV was going south on North Broadway.
Los Angeles police said the car then jumped the curb and struck the two men. The area is near Bernard Street and the Dodger Stadium.
Car Crashes Into Bus Stop
The Los Angeles Times and CBS Los Angeles wrote that the accident occurred on July 13 at around 4:20 p.m. Joseph Curran died as a result of the crash.
The other person sitting at the bus stop survived the collision with severe injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Firefighters added that they found one of the victims trapped underneath the Mercedes following the incident. Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV stayed at the site after the collision.
Police forced the area of Broadway and Bernard to shut down for a time as they cleared the site. The cause of the Elysian Park bus stop crash is still under investigation.
