Pedestrian Fatally Struck El Cajon Boulevard
LOCATION: El Cajon
DATE OF INCIDENT: Tuesday, May 15th
May 16, 2018 — Joseph Elliott Homent Jr., 58, of San Diego, has been identified as the pedestrian who died on May 17th, two days after he was struck by a vehicle on El Cajon Boulevard located next to a Roadway Inn, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
El Cajon police and the Heartland Fire Department were notified of the incident which occurred at roughly 7:10 p.m. The victim was rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital in critical condition where he later died of his injuries on May 17th.
The El Cajon Police Department is heading up the investigation into liability for the collision.

Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this time, we do not know whether or not the driver of the pedestrian had the right-of-way in the roadway. A full investigation into the circumstances will ultimately determine who is at fault.
