Joseph Lawson, 29, Hurt After Collision at McKnight Way and Highway 49
Grass Valley, CA (July 8, 2021) – Joseph Lawson, a 29-year-old Citrus Heights resident, suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of McKnight Way and Highway 49.
On June 4, two vehicles collided at the Grass Valley intersection. Preliminary investigation revealed Joseph Lawson was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Passat heading south on Highway 49. For an unknown reason, a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu sedan made an abrupt turn. The motorist pull-out from a dirt road onto northbound Highway 49.
Officials believed the man behind the wheel of the Chevrolet did not check southbound traffic before making the turn, leading to the crash.
The 2-vehicle accident resulted in injuries to Joseph Lawson. According to the an article published online by The Union, paramedics treated the man at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet reportedly died from the collision.
Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the car accident in Grass Valley.
