Deadly Car vs. Truck Accident Near Tippecanoe Avenue Friday
San Bernardino, CA (November 7, 2021) – Joseph Michael Ornelas, a 31-year-old man, died following a traffic crash that occurred on Interstate 10.
On November 5, Friday, a big rig collided with a sedan on the westbound lanes of the freeway.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department mentioned Joseph Ornelas was riding a car traveling on I-10 Freeway. For an unknown reason, the passenger vehicle came to a stop near Tippecanoe Avenue.
Officials believed the truck operator failed to slow down as it approached the traffic hazard. The big rig ended up slamming into the back of the car.
Due to the force from the impact, the truck careened down the embankment.

Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 10:40 p.m. and found one person unconscious in the smaller vehicle. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries an died. Authorities confirmed the identity of the deceased as Joseph Michael Ornelas, of San Bernardino.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the truck driver. At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly car and truck accident on Interstate 10 in San Bernardino.
