Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver
CLOVIS, Calif. (August 29, 2024) – Josh Cowdrey, 37, of Clovis, was identified as the motorcycle rider who died Wednesday morning at Barstow Avenue and Sunnyside Avenue.

A driver in an SUV struck the motorcyclist around 11 a.m. on August 28th at the Clovis intersection, according to the news reports and the Clovis Police Department.
The motorcyclist was westbound on Barstow Avenue when the woman driving the SUV pulled out in front of the bike and the two vehicles collided.
The rider went down in the roadway and suffered severe injuries. Paramedics responded to transport the victim to a hospital, but it’s unknown if Josh Cowdrey died on scene or at the medical facility.
Meanwhile, the woman who was driving the red SUV was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police said. She was later identified as 57-year-old Tammera Pittman. Police booked her into the Fresno County Jail.
Josh Cowdrey was a talented tattoo artist who recently worked at High Sierra Tattoo Co.
The tattoo shop will host “A Day of Tattoos” fundraiser in memory of Cowdrey on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with tattoo and raffle proceeds going to his family.
The Clovis motorcycle accident on Barstow Avenue remains under investigation.
