Passenger Hospitalized After Collision Near Twin View Boulevard Friday
Redding, CA (March 13, 2022) – Police arrested 37-year-old Joshua Blackwood following an injury car crash that occurred in the area of Market Street and Twin View Boulevard.
The KRCR published an article online reporting officers attempted to stop a motorist in North Redding Friday evening. Authorities said the motorist, later identified as Joshua Blackwood failed to yield. The suspect drove away at a high-rate of speed and led the police to a chase.
Per local news source, the suspect drove straight through a fence near Market Street in an attempt to evade the officers. The vehicle sustained significant damage after plunging down the embankment that separates Twin View from from Market.
Joshua Blackwood Arrested in Redding Hit-and-Run Crash on Market Street
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver stepped out of the vehicle and fled the scene. Officers later discovered the hit-and-run suspect hiding in a nearby bush. Police arrested the man for his original warrants; felony evading; and hit-and-run resulting in injury.
Meanwhile, authjorities added a passenger ended up partially trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters immediately worked to extricate the victim. After successfully freeing the patient, an ambulance transported the patient to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
