
Erwin Majano, 29, Arrested on Hit-and-run Charges
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 12, 2023) – Joshua Mora, 13, suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Whittier Boulevard and police have arrested a suspect.
The teenager told reporters at NBC 4 he is thankful to be alive after a motorcyclist struck him and severed his leg.
The collision occurred about 3:27 p.m. on March 30th near Orme Avenue, according to KTLA News. The boy was found lying in the roadway with major injuries. The motorcyclist, however, fled the scene without stopping to help the teenager.
Joshua Mora Hospitalized
Paramedics responded and transported the Hollenbeck Middle School eighth grader to a hospital where he underwent several surgeries for his injuries.
Police arrested a suspect on Tuesday morning and identified the man as Erwin Majano, 29, of Banning.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated that the motorcycle rider is being held on $50,000 bail.
The family of Joshua Mora has created a Gofundme account to help pay medical expenses for Joshua Moras.
The case is under investigation by the LAPD.
