Joshua Price Audra Ketcher hit-and-run Merced County

Joshua Price, 40; and Audra Ketcher, 42, Killed in Merced County Hit-and-Run Crash

MERCED COUNTY, CA (January 13, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed Joshua Price and Audra Ketcher on Highway 33 in Merced County.

The coroner’s office identified the 40-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, both of Newman, as victims of the wreck which took place on Wednesday.

The incident began when Joshua Price was riding a 2007 Suzuki GSXR with his passenger, Audra Ketcher, south on Highway 33 in Merced County.

At the same time, a 2015 GMC Sierra traveling ahead slowed to turn into a driveway near Marshall Road. In the process, the motorcycle riders hit the back of the car.

Motorcycle, Car and Big Rig Involved

The California Highway Patrol said Joshua Price and Audra Ketcher ended up ejected from the bike as a result of the crash. After some time, a big rig traveling in the opposite direction approached.

The semi-truck pulling a trailer tried to swerve but struck the motorcycle. Officers believed that the big rig possibly ran over the man and woman on the ground.

Both riders died at the scene. The Los Banos Enterprise and ABC 30 News wrote that the accident occurred on January 12 at about 8:05 a.m.

The motorist in the GMC stopped and stayed at the site following the wreck. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the big rig did not stop to help and fled northbound on Highway 33.

Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect who left Joshua Price and Audra Ketcher  in the roadway. The Merced County hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
