TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (March 17, 2023) – A fatal crash left Joshua Selesia badly injured on Highway 108 west of Jamestown in Tuolumne County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 37-year-old Sonora man as the victim in the wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Joshua Selesia was driving a 2013 Ford F-650 tow truck west on Highway 108 near Jamestown. At the same time, a 2003 Honda was going east.
For an unknown reason, the Honda went onto the south shoulder and overcorrected. The car then crossed over the broken yellow line into the path of the Ford.
In the process, the Honda slammed into the Ford F-650 hauling a 2001 Ford Excursion. The Excursion ended up dislodged from the flatbed of the tow truck due to the impact of the collision.
1 Killed in Wreck
The F-650 landed between the north shoulder and an embankment, east of La Grange Road. Meanwhile, the Honda spun out of control before coming to a rest.
CHP added that the Honda became fully engulfed in flames and spread the fire to the other vehicle. The Union Democrat and My Mother Lode wrote that the accident occurred on March 16 at about 9:10 a.m.
Joshua Selesia sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment.
The reports added that the driver of the Honda died at the scene of the incident. Officers forced Highway 108 to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the Jamestown crash is still under investigation.
