Joshua Simmons, 41, Killed in Tulare DUI Crash at Bardsley and Spruce
TULARE, CA (January 3, 2022) – Joshua Simmons was killed after a DUI crash at Bardsley Street and Spruce Avenue in Tulare.
Police identified the 41-year-old man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday evening.
The incident happened when Joshua Simmons was was walking across northbound Bardsley Street at Spruce Avenue in a green light in Tulare. At the same time, a Lincoln sedan was going east.
Police said the driver, 41-year-old Danny Correa, struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley wrote that the accident occurred on January 2 at around 5:30 p.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim down on the ground. Joshua Simmons sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital, where he died. Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of the victim.
Meanwhile, police determined that Danny Correa was under the influence of alcohol. Officers arrested him for DUI causing great bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
They soon booked the Visalia man at the Tulare County Sheriff’s South County Detention Facility. The Tulare pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
