JOSHUA TREE: 2 Killed, 3 Injured in Rollover Crash on Alta Loma Drive

JOSHUA TREE, California (July 14, 2014) –  Michael David Cottler, 37, of Crestline, and Sean Keller, 21, of Mountain Home, Idaho, both died Saturday after the car they were riding in overturned in the desert on Alta Loma Drive, just west of Sunny Vista, according to a dispatch by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

The fatal accident was reported about 5:03 p.m. CHP officers responded with paramedics and Cottler was taken by ambulance to Hi-Desert Medical Center, but he later died at 6:05 p.m. the same day. Keller was also hospitalized at Desert Regional Medical Center, but he died at 6:25 p.m.

Three others in the vehicle were also injured and taken to hospitals in Joshua Tree and Palm Springs for treatment.

The CHP is heading up an investigation into the crash.

“My condolences go out to the families of these two young men as the y cope with this tragedy and try to piece together what happened,” said Attorney James Johnson.
