10 Injured in Joshua Tree Crash on Highway 62 Near Hillview Road
JOSHUA TREE, CA (October 21, 2022) – A crash on Highway 62 near Hillview Road injured several people in Joshua Tree.
According to an article published by the KESQ News, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck on October 19 at around 6:45 p.m.
The incident happened when for an unknown reason, a Honda Accord made a left turn directly into the part of a Kia Sendona.
In the process, the Kia broadsided the Honda on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree. The California Highway Patrol said the male driver of the Accord collided with the other car near Hillview Road.
The Accord sustained major damage due to the impact of the collision. The Kia rolled over and came to a stop on its wheels as a result of the accident.
2 Cars Collide
Two of the four juveniles, ages of 7 and 16, ended up ejected from the Honda following the wreck. The victims sustained major injuries after the incident.
A helicopter flew both the Loma Linda University Hospital for treatment. An ambulance rushed the other two juveniles to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
The man driving the Kia and his passenger, a woman, survived the incident with moderate to major injuries. Paramedics took them to the hospital.
Medical personnel rushed the four children, ages eight months and 6 years old, to the Desert Regional for precautionary reasons.
The report did not disclose the names of all the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
CHP forced a stretch of Highway 62 to shut down near Hillview following the Joshua Tree crash.
