
Burrtec Garbage Truck Involved in Fatal Crash
JOSHUA TREE, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2025) – A fatal crash involving a Burrtec garbage truck happened Tuesday in Joshua Tree on 29 Palms Highway (SR-62) at Rotary Way.
The three-vehicle collision occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a Tesla, a Nissan Altima, and a garbage truck were involved in a collision in the westbound lanes of state Route 62.
It’s unknown what led up to the collision or how many people were injured in the crash. However, the CHP dispatch stated one person was injured in the Nissan. The report did not release the name or names of those who died.
Tow trucks removed all three of the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working to determine the driver at fault for the Burrtec garbage truck crash on Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree.
