Pedestrian Killed in Joshua Tree Crash at Highway 62 and Hillview Road
JOSHUA TREE, CA (April 16, 2023) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Highway 62 and Hillview Road in Joshua Tree.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the collision on April 16 at about 5:14 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Joshua Tree. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Highway 62 and Hillview Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene. They found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced the area of Highway 62 and Hillview Road to shut down for several hours after the accident.
The cause of the fatal Joshua Tree pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
