1 Killed, 1 Injured After Car Crash on Concow Road Wednesday
BUTTE COUNTY, Ca (August 11, 2019) – A driver died and a passenger suffered injuries following a solo-car crash on Concow Road Wednesday, according to the Mercury News.
California Highway Patrol Oroville identified the fatal victim as Joshua Watkins.
Primary reports indicated Watkins was behind the wheel of a 1999 Hino bobtail truck traveling north on Concow. When the young man approached the area near the Camp Fire burn zone between Paradise and Highway 70, it veered off the roadway and slammed into a tree.
The impact of the collision ejected the driver, later identified as Watkins, out of his seat.
First responders tried to save Watkins and immediately transported him to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. A short time after, Watkins sadly died.
Anthony Ornelas-Silva Injured in Butte County Car Accident
Authorities added a passenger in the truck, identified as 21-year-old Anthony Ornelas-Silva, sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck.
Additional details have not yet been released thus far. Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine the precise cause of the accident.
