Riverside County Accident Investigation
Pedestrians always have the right-of-way in the roadway and drivers must yield them the right-of-way. However, a driver may not be responsible if it can be proven that the pedestrian was at fault.
When a victim dies in a collision, the driver’s account of what happened may be the only one police have to determine fault. That’s why there must be a full investigation into what led to this collision to establish what happened. Those who suffered a loss or injuries in a collision such as this one, may have grounds for a wrongful death or personal injury claim. This is always a personal decision, but for many the financial losses associated with a traffic accident can be significant.
It’s important to note, however, that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim even when they know their insured is responsible. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed.
