Juan Anaya Killed After Rear-End Crash on 91 Freeway
Corona, California (Thursday, May 2, 2019) – One person was killed, and another was injured following a traffic collision on the Interstate 91 Freeway.
According to the Daily Bulletin News, an 18-year-old male was behind the wheel of a 2009 Dodge Journey heading eastbound on the interstate around 10:25 p.m. The Dodge Journey reportedly slammed into the back wheel of a tractor-trailer that was parked on the right shoulder of the freeway when it approached the crossing at Green River Road.

The impact resulted in fatal trauma to a passenger in the Dodge, officials said. The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Juan Anaya, of Corona.
Driver, 18, Severely Injured After Car and Truck Crash on 91 Freeway
Meanwhile, responding medics reportedly transported the Dodge driver to a local hospital with chest, knee and eye injuries. The name of the driver has not been disclosed thus far.
Preliminary investigation revealed the semi broke down in the area and was on the right shoulder with its emergency lights on and warning triangles in position when the crash happened. The truck operator appeared to be unharmed after the wreck.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident.
