Two Killed in Head-on Crash on Bear Mountain Road in Arvin
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (August 29, 2019 ) — Two people who died in a head-on collision Tuesday morning were identified as Juan Aztudillo Lopez, 32, of Arvin and Soledad Paniagua, 50, of McFarland.
The collision happened about 5:30 a.m. on Bear Mountain Boulevard in Arvin.
The crash took place at South Edison Road, just west of Cuda Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Police say that Lopez was driving a Toyota Corolla that veered into oncoming traffic and collided with the eastbound Chrysler PT Cruiser Paniagua was riding in as a passenger.
Three others who were in the PT Cruiser were airlifted to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
It’s unknown at this time whether drugs and or alcohol were factors in the fatal crash.
