SAN MARCOS, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2023) — Juan Carlos Camacho, 53, of Ontario, died Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on South Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos.
The collision occurred about 7 a.m. on Feb. 23rd, near La Colusa Drive, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Police say the 53-year-old Ontario man was driving his Lincoln sedan southbound on S. Rancho Santa Fe Road when another motorist traveling in the opposite direction crossed over the center divide and hit his vehicle head-on.
Medical crews happened to be nearby and heard the collision and responded.
Paramedics transported Juan Camacho to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido where he died at 7:38 a.m. the same day, the report said.
Meanwhile, the San Diego Sheriff’s Department is heading up the investigation.
