Juan De Paz Guadarrama, 28, ID’d as Suspect in Moreno Valley Fatal DUI Crash
MORENO VALLEY, CA (February 28, 2022) – Officers detained Juan De Paz Guadarrama after a fatal DUI crash in Moreno Valley.
Deputies determined that the 28-year-old man was under the influence of alcohol when the collision took place on Monday.
The incident began when Juan Daniel De Paz Guadarrama was driving a black Dodge Ram north on Indian Street in Moreno Valley. Meanwhile, a gold Toyota Solana was going west on Delphinium Avenue.
Both cars entered the intersection at the same time. In the process, the front of the pickup truck hit the driver’s side of the Toyota.
Maria Mejia, 58, Killed in Wreck
The driver of the Toyota, 58-year-old Maria Mejia, ended up trapped inside her car as a result of the collision. Firefighters arrived at the scene and then freed the unresponsive victim from the wreckage.
Paramedics rushed the Moreno Valley woman to the Riverside University Health System, where she died. The Riverside County News Source and My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on February 27 at about 4:50 p.m.
Officers at the crash site arrested Juan De Paz Guadarrama on suspicion of DUI resulting in bodily injury. They soon booked him into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside in lieu of $50,000 bail.
