Juan Frausto Killed in Norwalk Pedestrian Accident at 105 and 605 Freeways

NORWALK, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2026) — Juan Frausto, 53, died early Monday in a collision on a freeway transition road in Norwalk between the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, authorities said.
The crash was reported on Jan. 5th at approximately 12:44 a.m. on the eastbound 105 to southbound 605 transition road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told investigators that a yellow truck and a black SUV were involved in the collision and that the truck may have left the roadway following the impact. Emergency responders arrived to find one victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was later released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
CHP officers requested Caltrans to implement a full closure of the transition ramp while investigators examined the scene and cleared debris. The closure remained in place for several hours.
The transition road reopened to traffic at about 3:30 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
