Juan Pablo Garibay, 20, ID’d as Suspect in Napa DUI Crash at Highways 29 and 12
NAPA, CA (October 5, 2021) – Authorities detained Juan Garibay after a DUI crash at Highway 29 and Highway 12 in Napa.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 20-year-old Manteca man was under the influence when the collision took place on Saturday.
The incident began when Juan Pablo Garibay was driving Nissan Pathfinder at an unsafe speed in Napa. At the same time, two cars were stopped at the intersection of Highway 29 and Highway 12.
CHP said Juan Garibay then struck the rear of a Mercedes-Benz C250. The impact ultimately pushed the Mercedes into a Toyota Camry.
2 Injured in Car Collision
The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident occurred on October 2 at about 10:45 p.m. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found two people in the Mercedes hurt.
The driver and passenger of the Mercedes ended up minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel took them to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for further aid.
The report did not disclose the names of the victims and their condition at this time. CHP added that the man driving the Toyota did not sustain any wound.
Meanwhile, officers soon arrested and booked Juan Garibay into the Napa jail on suspicion of DUI causing injury. The Napa DUI collision is still under investigation.
