Passenger, 22, Dies at Hospital After Collision Near Cedar Boulevard Monday
Newark, CA (January 10, 2022) – Juan Gonzalez-Ramirez, a 22-year-old man, died following a car accident that occurred on Saint Isabel Street Monday evening.
According to an article published online by East Bay Times, Gonzalez-Ramirez was a passenger in a vehicle traveling in the streets of Newark. When the car approached the area near Cedar Boulevard, the driver allowed the car to veer off the roadway. Officials said the vehicle ended up crashing into an empty parked car.
Emergency crews arrived at the location shortly after 11:20 p.m. First responders found as many as four injured occupants in the disabled car.
Paramedics reportedly rushed one passenger with severe injuries to the hospital. Sadly, the patient succumbed to their injuries and died. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau identified the deceased as Juan Gonzalez-Ramirez.
Driver Arrested in Newark Deadly DUI Crash on Saint Isabel Street
Authorities added the other three parties, including the driver, sustained minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel rendered aid to all the victims. After the evaluation, officials learned the 24-year-old driver was intoxicated at the time of the horrible crash. Given that, police arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into Santa Rita jail.
Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly DUI car crash on Saint Isabel Street.
