Juan Morales, 53; and Roberto Saldana, 60, Injured in Dixon Crash on Interstate 80
DIXON, CA (May 11, 2022) – Juan Morales and Roberto Saldana were injured after a fatal crash on the Interstate 80 near Dixon.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Sacramento men as victims of the collision which occurred on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened when Juan Morales, 53; and Roberto Saldana, 60, were riding a Ford F-450 going west on the Interstate 80 near Dixon.
A Ford F-650 came and struck the back of the F-450 which slowed for traffic, east of Pedrick Road. The two cars then crashed into a metal guardrail.
1 Killed in Wreck
CHP said in the process, the F-650 side-swiped a Volvo tractor-trailer. The Daily Republic wrote that the wreck took place on May 10 at about 6:50 a.m.
Juan Morales, Roberto Saldana, the driver and a third passenger of the F-450 sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics arrived and provided aid to the patients.
Medical personnel rushed an occupant of the F-650, 28-year-old Adrian Flores, to a hospital for treatment. The driver of the F-650, a 42-year-old man, died at the scene.
CHP added that a private vehicle took the operator of the Volvo, 57-year-old Victor Lezhenko, following the incident. The cause of the Dixon crash is still under investigation.
