Juan Ramirez Dead After Amtrak Train Accident at Central and Maple Avenue Monday
Fresno, CA (March 16, 2021) – Two people, including Juan Ramirez, died following a crash involving a train in the area of Central and Maple Avenue Monday evening.
According to Your Central Valley, Juan Ramirez was a passenger in a vehicle attempting to cross the intersection at Central and Maple. Authorities said the driver tried to go around the crossing arms that were already lowered.
The catastrophic incident took place around 10:30 p.m. Officials said the train did not have enough time to stop, and eventually struck the car. Our sources indicated the train dragged the vehicle for a while before coming to a stop.
Shortly after horrible crash, rescue teams arrived at the accident scene. Paramedics reportedly rendered aid to all parties found; including the 26 passengers on board the train.

Our sources confirmed the two occupants in the car both sadly died in the collision. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased passenger as 21-year-old Juan Ramirez; and the deceased driver as 27-year-old Noe Maravilla. The relationship of the fatal victims remained unknown at this time.
No immediate information was available on the conditions of the people on board the Amtrak passenger train.
Further investigation on the unfortunate event is ongoing.
