Juan Reynoso and 2 Children Killed, Elizabeth Flores and Son Critically Injured in DUI Crash
LOS ANGELES (May 1, 2018) – A man killed after an alleged DUI crash in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood on April 28 Saturday has been identified as Juan Reynoso, according to KTLA.
The 34-year-old man, along with his 6-year-old daughter Emma Reynoso and 5-month-old son Sebastian Reynoso, died as a result of the crash at South Hoover and West 76th streets. Two other victims, 33-year-old Elizabeth Flores and her son, 9-year-old Julian Reynoso, were gravely hurt in the wreck.
As per the article, the County District Attorney’s Office said 30-year-old Jose Manuel Garcia was driving a Nissan Xterra at a high rate of speed north on Hoover when he allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with 76th Street.

Garcia then struck the Dodge Caravan carrying the family of five that was passing through the intersection at the time. Both cars became engulfed in flames upon impact at around 8 p.m.
Officials said Juan Reynoso, Emma and Sebastian were pronounced dead at the scene. Flores and Julian were pulled out from their car and were rushed to LAC+USC Medical Center with critical injuries.
Meanwhile, Garcia was believed to have been driving under the influence when the incident occurred. The Los Angeles resident is charged with three felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, one felony count of driving under the influence within 10 years of another DUI and one felony count of driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content causing injury within 10 years of another DUI in connection with the fiery crash. His being held at the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic with a bail set at $6.03 million.
