Juana Rodriguez, 69, Killed in Panorama City Hit-and-Run at Nordhoff and Tobias
LOS ANGELES (November 16, 2019) – An alleged hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian in the area of Nordhoff Street and Tobias Avenue Saturday.
Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the deceased victim as 69-year-old Juana De Jesus Rodriguez, of Panorama City.
Police said Rodriguez was crossing the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Tobias Avenue in the Panorama City neighborhood when a vehicle struck her.
Pedestrian Hit by Car in Los Angeles’ Panorama City
The incident began when the driver was headed east on Nordhoff Street. For an unknown reason, they hit the woman who was walking south in the crosswalk at the time.
According to reports by KTLA and NBC Los Angeles, paramedics pronounced Rodriguez dead at the scene. The fatal accident occurred just before 5:40 a.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist involved did not stop to render aid and fled eastbound on Nordhoff. Officers described the suspect car as a dark-colored sedan.
