2 Killed in Lake Los Angeles Car Accident Identified
LAKE LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 22, 2024) — Juanita Ruffner, 79, and Jesus Garcia Ibarra, 30,both died in a head-on crash Monday on East Palmdale Boulevard in Lake Los Angeles.
The collision involving three vehicles occurred on Palmdale Blvd., at 152nd Street East around 11:40 a.m., in the Antelope Valley, according to a CHP traffic dispatch and AV Press.
A blue sedan and a black SUV collided head-on, at least one hit a third vehicle and a power pole was knocked down during the crash.
Police and firefighters responded and confirmed both people dead at the scene.
Jesus Garcia Ibarra was the first to be identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office. Juanita Ruffner was more recently ID’d by the coroner.
Meanwhile, a third person had minor injuries and a four was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. A fifth person survived with no injuries reported on scene.
Finally, investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
